Geraldine Zetzel is a Boston-area writer living in Lexington, Mass.
She has a background in teaching, mediation and family advocacy. In addition to writing, she does watercolor, and is a longtime practitioner of Vipassana Buddhism.
She has published widely, and has done many readings in the New England area. A group of poems and an interview were featured in A Wider Giving: Women Writing After a Long Silence (Chicory Blue Press). Poems have also appeared in a variety of anthologies including, Fresh Water, Immigrant Experiences, Coastlines, The Heart of the Flower, as well as in various journals such as, The Comstock Review, Cumberland Poetry Review, Crazy Quilt, The Radcliffe Quarterly, Stone Country, Rhino, and The Worcester Review.
Her full-length collection, Mapping the Sands, came out in 2010, published by Mayapple Press. (Available in bookstores, online, or from the publisher: mayapplepress.com.)
Recently, “This will Only Hurt for a Minute”, was awarded Special Merit in The Comstock Review’s 25th Anniversary issue.
